Ribbon
Cutting
Wholesome Healing, Inc. was honored to have several Chamber
Ambassadors and both county and city officials attend its official
ribbon cutting ceremony on December 9, 2008. Clients also showed
their support by sending flowers and cards. Guests enjoyed fresh
blueberries, strawberries and pineapple as well as miniature
scones, cheese and nuts. Starbucks coffee was on hand to make the
occasion something special! Thanks to all who made it such a
special event.
Open House

On November 6, 2008 Wholesome Healing, Inc. celebrated our
expansion and opening of our new location on Commerce St. We also
celebrated the end of a long, grueling campaign for the
presidency. (Some of you know that we just happen to be located
next door to the headquarters of the Pitt County Republican
Party.) For several months parking had been quite difficult, so we
took the first opportunity after the election to celebrate our new
location. It was such a pleasure to see both people from the
community and clients in a fun relaxed atmosphere. Everyone seemed
to really enjoy the hot apple cider!

Sabbatical in Japan 2005
During June and July of 2005 Melissa was in Japan studying Reiki, sokuatsu and acupressure in Japanese.
Reiki is a very gentle method of touch that facilitates balancing of energy and relaxation, often aiding in relief from pain and speeding recovery from injury. Melissa received Level I, II and III certification from a Reiki Master there.
| Sokuatsu is similar to shiatsu, which is a technique unique to Japan that uses specific points and application of sustained pressure to relieve tension and pain. Traditional shiatsu is done mainly with the fingers, hands and elbows. Sokuatsu is done with the feet. |
